It's Time - a poem

It’s Time

In the not so recent past,
I gazed upon your alter ego.
With one dangling link from me to you,
I made friends even if you’re out of clue.

Fascination has always settled
in what seems to be like snobbish mask.
The silence on your window mesmerized me;
the kindness of your heart intrigued me.

You are a fusion of the west and the east;
living in places where angels and apples feast.
Born of love by those who grew from far across the seas;
your value for family is innate and very hard to miss.

I’ve observed you from afar;
I’m unsure if you’ve discerned so far.
Unexplained happiness enveloped my being,
when you noticed somewhat, my very own living.

I dream of you and that day to come;
I speak of you and where you’re from.
And speaking of the devil, the devil comes;
you said hello in perfect timing.

As time grows near for winter to clear;
anxiety is understated – what lies beneath is fear.
Will I appeal to you as friend or as one for keeps?
Will I even chance upon you in the city that never sleeps?

In the spring, it’s time to lay eyes on you;
My hopes are up – hope yours are too.
